Shirley Ann Kloberdans

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Shirley Kloberdans, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Shirley left this world peacefully at home on September 5, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on May 20, 1936, in Denver, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Orrill and Ethel Newcomb. She was raised with her sister Nancy Merenuk, who preceded her in death, in a home filled with love and laughter in the heart of Denver. Shirley was a proud graduate of Denver East High School and went on to attend Denver University, where she cultivated a love for learning that would last a lifetime. Her career spanned many years as an Executive Secretary for Al Cohen Construction in Denver, where her dedication and sharp memory were admired by all. Later, she found success and fulfillment as a Realtor in both Colorado and Nevada, always bringing her integrity and warmth to her work. In 1987, Shirley married the love of her life, James Kloberdans, and together they built a life in Henderson, Nevada, filled with joy and companionship. Their home was a gathering place for family and friends, where Shirley's passion for cooking and entertaining was evident in every lovingly prepared meal. Shirley was a woman of many talents and interests. She had an unwavering devotion to her Catholic faith, which guided her throughout her life. Her days were filled with the joy of dancing, playing Bridge, and partaking in sports such as tennis and pickleball. She had an artistic flair, expressed through her sewing, and an inquisitive mind that led her to explore graphology. Her greatest passion, however, was always her family. She is survived by her cherished husband James and her loving children: Karen (John) Basting, Kyle (Anita) Kilbey, Kristen (Virgil) Woodall, and Karol (Ronald) Stevens. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren—Michelle, Justin, Krystal, Katie, Keith, Kiffany, Kindy, Krystal, Dillon, and Alyssa Jo—and fifteen great-grandchildren—James, Jaeden, Maya, Chloe, Emery, Nash, Maddox, Maya, Lynden, Walker, Ethan, Avery, Levi, Leland, and Wren—each of whom she adored and inspired with her boundless energy and love. Shirley's family expresses deep gratitude to those who have supported them during this time and to all who shared in the light of her remarkable life. They encourage donations in her memory to be made to a charity of one's choice, as a way to honor her generous spirit. Her family will forever remember her as the hardest worker with the sharpest memory, whose love and passion were always centered on her children and family. Shirley will be missed by the many who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she freely gave to others.
