Ruth Ann Young

Ruth Ann (Blank) Young, age 83, went home to heaven on November 1st, 2020. She was married to her high school sweetheart and best friend, Pahl, for 63 beautiful years. Ruth Ann was born March 26th, 1937 in Waukesha, WI to Albert and Lucy Blank. She attended grade school in Waukesha then moved to Elroy, WI where she graduated high school in 1956. In 1957 Ruth Ann was united in marriage to the love of her life, Pahl Young, and together they started their family in Madison, WI. In 1971 a job promotion relocated them to Manitowoc, WI where they lived and raised their five children before retiring to Las Vegas, NV in 1996. However, Ruth Ann always held Wisconsin close to her heart and looked forward to returning there for a few months every summer to visit family and friends. Ruth Ann focused her life on loving and caring for her family. While her children were growing up, she was involved in many school activities including classroom volunteer, Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader and football Team Mom. She later provided daycare and fun experiences for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved hosting family events and was an amazing cook, always going out of her way to make each occasion a memorable one. She enjoyed decorating her house and creating lasting memories and holiday traditions with her family, traditions that included decorating cookies, dying eggs, and carving pumpkins around the table with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. These were the moments that Ruth Ann loved the most and everyone loved being with "Nana". Ruth Ann also loved to travel and camp with family and friends. Whether she was traveling throughout the United States, traveling abroad, going on a cruise or camping a few hours away she loved every minute and cherished every memory. Ruth Ann not only loved her family but was also devoted to her faith, friends and neighbors. She could talk to anyone, anywhere, and make an instant connection. She welcomed everyone to her home with open arms and a hearty meal. Though her faith has carried her home, Ruth Ann made a lasting impact on so many and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Pahl Young; children, Tonja Young of Two Rivers, WI, Pahl (Jacquie) Young of Las Vegas, NV, Todd (Victoria) Young of Las Vegas, NV, Kim (Steve) Kenaston of Hales Corners, WI, and Jeremy (Brenda) Young of Las Vegas, NV. She is further survived by eleven grandchildren, Jenni (TC) Cabello, Bob (Krista) Krepline, Lucyann Krepline, Brittney Kenaston, Kaitlyn Kenaston, Abbey Kenaston, Mackenzie Young, PJ Young, Grace Young, Emily Young, and Bailey Young; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Rutledge, Becky Krepline, Bobby Krepline, Addison Peterson and Mason Cabello; siblings Barbara Algase, Donna (Donny) Amberg, Jeannie (Gil) Baumann, Fred (Sally) Blank, Joanie Field, Arnie (Linda) Blank, Bruce Blank, as well as nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Lucy, her parents-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a niece and three nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 27 at Faith Community Lutheran Church. Pastor Craig Michaelson will officiate. The new church is located at 3505 South Town Center Drive, Las Vegas. A Celebration of Life will be held in Wisconsin at a later date, as yet to be determined. Memorials in Ruth Ann's honor can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
