Robert Gonzales Sr.

On January 29, 2021 Robert Gonzales Sr's spirit was suddenly released from this world to join his loved ones who passed before him. Robert (Bobby) was born on March 7, 1963 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Jose and Alicia Gonzales. He grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho. After briefly living in Boise he moved to Las Vegas. For the last 18 years he supervised the wax on wax off technique for Terrible Herbst Car Wash. To some Bobby may have appeared worn, traveled and a little gruff, but on the inside he was oh so soft and squishy. This man of many colors had a heart of solid gold. He was kind, simple and a comedic all knit together in this perfect soul. Thoughts of him melt your heart and good memories fill your mind bringing laughter and joy. Robert did not understand technology, but he had no problem working a remote. He would spend hours watching cooking shows. This obsession made him a professional on giving instructions while his only cooking specialty dubbed him the Ramen King. He took fashion cues from no one. His signature look for any and all special occasions would be his Raiders jersey, ankle length shorts, topped off with the latest baseball cap. He was often spotted in pictures trying to pose all tuff. He loved camping, magic, family get togethers, BBQ's and swap meets. He had a lifelong love affair with the Raiders and Keystone Light (in the can, not bottle). But his greatest and deepest love belonged to his Little Buddy, R.J. Those who knew him were blessed to have learned many valuable lessons in his journey we call life. Secretly, he changed lives along the way and taught us to not judge a book by its cover. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Alicia Gonzales. Brother, Art Gonzales, his nephew Caius Martinez, Uncle Javier Gonzalez, grandparents, Jose and Casimira Soto and Aurora Gonzalez. He is survived by his son, R.J. (Little Buddy) of Oregon. Sisters: Corinna Lavala of Las Vegas. Yolanda (Robert) Gonzalez of Wendell. Brothers: Danny (Kandy) Soto of Heyburn, Idaho. Peter (Perci) Gonzalez of Las Vegas. Freddy (Liz) Gonzalez of Twin Falls, Idaho. Nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Condolences can be sent to the family online here.
