Patrick Owen Lozensky

Age 66, went home peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in Las Vegas, NV. Patrick, is survived by his Wife of 38 yrs., Joy Lozensky of Las Vegas, his Daughters, Tracey Freithoffer of Arizona, Cory Lozensky, Stephanie Johnson (Gregory Johnson), Wendy Vaughn (Jesse Vaughn) all of Las Vegas, his grandchildren, Whitney Tatum, Zayna Tatum, Na'Geree Johnson all of Las Vegas, Alexys Freithoffer, AJ Freithoffer, both of Arizona, Jacob Robinson, Aliviah McCoy, Kyle Johnson, all of Las Vegas, Great Grandchildren, Cameron Navar, Echo Koempel, and Izzy Koempel, all of Las Vegas. He is preceded in death by his Mother, Emma Lee Garner, Father, Joseph Andrew Lozensky, his Brother, Ronald Joseph Lozensky and his Grandson, Darrien Michael Lozensky. Patrick, was born on May 21, 1952 in Bethlehem, PA, to Joseph Andrew Lozensky and Emma Lee Garner. He attended Rancho High School in North Las Vegas and was a resident of Las Vegas for over 58 years. During high school Patrick started his cooking/chef career at many places in the Las Vegas area including Denny's and, the Silver Slipper as a line cook, the Mint Hotel and Casino and, the Nevada Test Site as Sous Chef, and an Executive Chef at the following, The Fitzgerald's Hotel and Casino, The Marriott, Valley Hospital, Main Street Station Hotel and Casino, The Hacienda Hotel and Casino The Aladdin Hotel and Casino, and most recently his fourteen (14) year career at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino as the Executive Chef of the Commissary Kitchen. Here's just a glimpse of the impact that Patrick made in his career as a Chef over his lifetime: Patrick was instrumental in launching and executing Culinary Apprenticeship Program - An accredited program that provided up and coming Cooks and Chefs to advance their careers. Patrick contributed and was active in the Chefs for Kids Program locally in Las Vegas Area - A Program where a Variety of Major Hotel and Casino Chefs provided healthy breakfasts for at risk school children. Patrick was a critical member of the Opening team for the MGM Grand Detroit Hotel and Casino - This took Patrick away from home and family for several months. This sacrifice while being challenging resulted in one of the most successful openings of a major hotel and casino in Detroit Michigan. Patrick assisted Launching and Maintaining a Culinary Life Skills Program - which created opportunities for non-culinary individuals to learn and grow new cooking techniques in the Las Vegas community. Patrick mentored and tutored many novice and experienced cooks and chefs over his very lengthy career Patrick also played a major part in many private functions as he enjoyed cooking and preparing for many pool parties, weddings banquets and several other special occasions throughout his career. Patrick was ALWAYS the LIFE of the PARTY! He was a wonderful family man, a loving father and an amazing husband. Patrick was a kind hearted soul who touched many lives along his amazing journey here on earth. Everyone he met he warmed hearts and made friends for life. Patrick enjoyed camping, golfing, bowling, and his Football Sundays along with a little Basketball, baseball and most recently he took an interest in watching Soccer. Patrick loved all kinds of music throughout his life and he was even quite the drummer in his younger days. Patrick will be forever in our hearts!!
