Mary Thrower

Mary Louise Washington was born May 20th, 1950 in Lake Village, Arkansas to Richard and Mrs. Elizabeth Washington. Mary was the 4th child of eight siblings. Mary passed away suddenly at a local hospital after a long battle with cancer. Mary's early childhood was in Lake Village then the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1965. She attended and graduated from Rancho High School, where she played in the band, playing the flute and piccolo. Mary became a Debutante during her Junior year in high school, then the big Debutante Ball happened in her Senior Year. After graduation, she married Benny Thrower and moved to Los Angeles, California to further her education and during this union, Nicole Thrower was born. In 1968, Mary started her career with Pacific Bell Yellow Pages, in Los Angeles, California. Her management skills would lead her to other communication companies, including AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. Mary moved back to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1996, still working in telecommunications and with Sprint. After her retirement from Sprint, she soon returned to work for Johnson Controls as an Account Manager. Her professionalism & dedication earned her a long & successful career. Mary was a loyal friend to those who knew her, she had a smile that would light up the room, in High School she had a nickname, "SUNSHINE". Mary was a caregiver to everyone and a private person, never asking for help. She would never let you know her pain or problems, she was like the Eveready battery, she kept going and going until the end. Mary enjoyed cooking, family time, loved reading her bible and traveling with John. John, never left her side and was there until the end........THANK YOU JOHN. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mrs. Elizabeth Washington, two brothers, Samuel Jermison and Bennie Washington, two nephews, Derick and Marcus Hill, Jr. She's survived by her daughter, Nicole Thrower, her longtime companion John Biddle, brothers, Howard Washington, Alvin Washington (Mari), Sisters, Elizabeth (Liz) Washington, Rose (Victor) Bunch, Patricia (Trish) Bennett. Nieces and nephews, Willie (Valerie) Sconyers, Mary (Gregory) Sowell, Damon (Natasha) Stoudamire, Marcus Hill, Paige Bunch, Patrina (McDonald) Green, Myles (Valencia) Bunch, Roderic (Kellie) Washington, Wesley (Charlotte) Washington and Kia Washington. A host of great Nieces and Nephews . We will all miss and love her forever.
