Joel Lynn Johnson

Joel Lynn Johnson was born in Valley City, North Dakota. He passed away in ProCare Hospice Hospital in Las Vegas on January 20, 2026. Joel had a lot of friends, family and musician associates. Joel graduated in 1969 from Ballard High School and then later graduated from North Seattle Community College with a 2 year Associates Degree in Geology. He worked at University Swaging, later named "Primus International". He was a Metal Saw and a Deburr Operator and later went to another company for a short time. He married Maureen Eva Lee in August of 1994, in North Seattle at the Ballard Locks. He played music from High School on until 2015 and then later retired and moved to Las Vegas in February of the same year. He played in over 40 Rock bands. Many years there in Seattle and throughout the country, he was very talented on keyboards, guitar, and he also sang. He is on the NW Rock n' Roll bands, with many other bands on their website. He wrote an E-book about his travels playing music everywhere called "The Road Never Ends". The book is selling in many book stores over the Seattle area and beyond. The E-book can be accessed online. He was associated with the bands "Proof", now named "Heart", "Merrilee Rush & The Turnabouts" and recently till retirement with "Shelley & The Curves" based in Bellevue/Seattle, WA for 10 years. He was cremated in Las Vegas. He will be placed in a niche in Washelli Columbarium in Seattle, Washington with his father. He is preceded in death by his parents, Suzanne Lois (Haas) Johnson and David Jerome Johnson, who are deceased. He is survived by his wife, Maureen Johnson, of Las Vegas, Nevada, his Brother, Mike Johnson in Washington, his Brother, Steve Johnson in California, Sister, Connie Chennault of Washington, and the grandniece, Robin Nix of Ohio.Stepdaughters, Cherie Lee of Oregon, and Shanda Lee of Maryland, Granddaughter, Violet Mikulewicz, Granddaughter, Phinnaeus of Maryland, Grandson, Jordan Paschal of Washington, His Sister, Leslie Hill, Brother-in-law, Getson Hill of South Carolina, his nephews, Ryan Hill of California, Chris Hill of Alaska, Chad Hill of Ohio, his Nieces in Alaska, Samantha & Gabby, his Aunt Peggy Sparr, and Uncle, Gary Sparr from Minnesota, his Step Niece, Heather Dyer of Washington, his Sister-in-law Pam McCoy from Washington, his Brother-in-law Terry Parker of Washington, Niece Aubrey Evans, Nephew, Garret Evans of Ohio, his Great Grandsons, Graham Evans & Grady Evans of Ohio, his Uncle, Harvey Chennault of Washington, his Grandniece, Kelly Stock of Washington and many more!
