Imogene May Burr

Imogene Burr Also known as Jeannie, age 71 The family matriarch Passed away the evening of August 15,2025, Surrounded by family and friends. She was Preceded in death by her parents Chester Burr and Alpha Prior, by her Brothers Tommy Ward (Tom), Earl Burr, and her sister Barbra Burr. Jeannie Burr survived by her three children Michael Burr, Randy Holiday and Misty Burr. and 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. So many other family members and people who considered her family. Jeannie grew up in a few different places, she was born in San Luis Obispo, California. She spent some of her younger years on a farm with her parents. When her parents passed away, she moved with some family to Arkansas where she was baptized in a small creek in Maysville. Finally, she set her roots down in Las Vegas Nv, where all three of her children would be born. She went to hair dressing school for a few years and worked in a wig shop. She later decided to work in the hospitality industry where She served cocktails for some 45 years, she was not afraid of hard work and truly gave her all in these industries. She loved her family with every ounce of her being, raised her three children as a single independent woman. Jeannie loved to garden, she had quite a green thumb. The only thing she struggled to grow was rose bushes. She would spend hours outside working in the yard and eating ice chips to stay cool. Jeannie loved to care for animals and dedicated a lot of her time over the years helping them and loving them. Jeannie was the most loving mother and grandmother; she always wanted to make sure that her family didn’t go without in any way she could. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays, she loved to see the smiles on all the faces of her children and grandchildren. She always aimed to have the best gifts at birthday parties. Jeannie touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way, all the kids in the neighborhood looked at her as a mom / Grandmother. She helped a lot of people that had been down on their luck and helped them get on their feet again. She once told a story about her parents who owned a grocery store during the depression. When families in their community struggled due to the depression her parents gave things from the store to make sure people had things they needed even if they couldn’t pay for them. Ultimately, they closed the doors because they eventually gave all they had to make sure their community was not going without. She was in so many ways a giver, just like her parents. Jeannie was what some would consider an Angel who walked among us, always looking out for others in hard times. She will be missed greatly by all who come to know her.
