Sunrise: November 22, 1969 Sunset: January 16, 2024 Prayer/Officiating - Shamsuddin Waheed Dion Anthony Williams, 54, entered eternal rest, peacefully, on Tuesday, January 16th at the Valley Hospital Medical Center, following a short battle with illness. Dion was born on November 22, 1969 to mother Linda M. Smith and adoptive father Bernard A. Williams in his beloved city, the Bronx, NY. Dion, a true New Yorker to his core, was a resident of the Bronx for over twenty years. He was educated in the Bronx Catholic school system, graduating from Monsignor Scanlon High School in 1987. In 1989, Dion moved into the next chapter of his life with a transition to Sacramento, California. It was at this time Dion began his professional career working in the healthcare industry. Throughout his career, which included long tenures at Zurich American Insurance Company and Getix Health, Dion received numerous accolades for his dedication and care in shepherding clients through their insurance eligibility and needs. Dion also attended Sacramento Community college, securing his certification as a Pharmacy Technician. Dion's work ethic was second to none. Dion ultimately relocated to Las Vegas to care for his mother in December 2019. He remained a part of the Las Vegas community until his untimely passing. To know Dion was to know a man filled with passion, enveloped in a kind and caring heart. Despite living the majority of his adult life elsewhere, Dion embodied all things New York. His love of hip hop, the New York Knicks and New York cuisine was as much a part of him as his infectious smile and booming laugh. But for all of his loves, none was more profound than the love he held for his children. He was so proud of his children and strived to be the best father he could be. Though his loss comes as a painful shock felt by his family and friends, his memory will be an eternal light. To honor his spirit, Dion is survived by his daughter Dominique S. Williams; sons Kyree B. Williams, Naseer J. Williams, Sadiq E. Williams, Syeed M. Williams; stepson DeMare' Burgess; eight grandchildren; his best friend and Godfather to his children, Naseer Muhajir; rmother Linda M. Smith; aunt Ruth D. Smith; 1st cousin C. Rapier Copeland, Lawrence Williams (Rocko) and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
