Vivian Arlene Lasagna (Speidel)

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Vivian Lasagna announces her passing on Saturday March 21st,2020 at the age of 84. Vivian was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband Paul, parents Frederick and Rose Speidel and sister Margaret Feickert. Vivian is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Marlan (Eunice) Speidel and Eugene (Mary) Speidel, her children Robert (Tammy), Michael, Stephen and Jan Lasagna, her eight grandchildren Justin, Amy, Samantha, Gina, Jacob, Cody, Jennifer, and Taylor, along with several nieces and nephews. Vivian loved the Lord with all of her heart and she loved to sing the traditional Lutheran hymns. Colossians 3:16-17, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Taking this scripture to heart, Vivian boldly and proudly sang her praises to God, unafraid of who might hear or what others might think. Her songs were for God - not for man. Vivian was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family's interests above her own. She was very good about calling her nieces and nephews with well wishes and encouraging words on their birthdays and important dates. After God and her family, Vivian loved three things - sports, reading and crocheting, not necessarily in that order. She was an avid sports fan, especially when watching her children and grandchildren play. And, she was always quick to offer "spot-on" criticism to coaches and officiants when it came to her teams. She was a voracious reader and would often have dozens of books she had just read or was planning to read. And, she was a prolific crocheter, often making afghans and baby blankets for family members and friends. It was a common sight to find Vivian sitting on the couch with a book on the table next to her, a blanket she was crocheting in her hand, and a Dodgers game on the television. She will be sincerely missed by those who knew and loved her. However, we take comfort in knowing that she is in heaven with her Lord and Savior, and that she is reunited with her parents, her sister, and her husband.
