Shiow-Chyn Lee Chiang-Bailey

"Susan" Shiow-Chyn Lee Chiang-Bailey, age 70, passed away on October 29, 2020 when she lost the battle to COVID-19. She was born on August 15, 1950 in Jiayi, Taiwan. As a young woman that was born into a peasant family, Susan left the countryside and entered the city of Taipei as a middle school student. She married the late Shung-Chen Chiang at age 19 and gave birth to three children Scott, Lynn, and Mark Chiang. Susan immigrated to the United States in 1984 with her children on her own and restarted a life in the new world having to learn a new language, culture, and job skills while raising her children. In the 36 years of her life in the United States, Susan had obtained a Bachelors and masters degree while working full time; started her first job as an electronics assembler at General Datacom, and becoming a rising star in the banking and financial services industry starting from Chemical Bank in New York City to her own mortgage/financial brokerage in Las Vegas. Her philosophy has always been to help those in need and never take advantage of others. She became a tremendous leader in the Chinese community. Walking through Chinatown with her was pure joy and happiness as "EVERYONE" approached her for advice, counseling, friendship, or just a chance to enjoy her smile. Susan worked in the mortgage and finance world and helped many people from all ranges of life from first-time home buyer with no credit to the most successful Chinese shopping plaza in Las Vegas. Susan is survived by her husband Wayne Bailey and their children and spouses, Scott and Sheng-Ying Chiang, Mark Chiang, Lynn and Jorge Vera, Anita and Graham Smith, and Angie Bailey; Grandchildren Audrey and Zoe Chiang, Alexander Chiang, Landon and Morgen Vera, Ava and JW Neilson, Claudia, Mason, and Bailey-Grace Smith. All of whom she loved deeply. Susan will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Memorial Columbarium in Whittier, CA. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the Chiang-Bailey Residence in Las Vegas on November 21, 2020.
