Shawn Anthony Lee Garner, age 27 passed away on May 14, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shawn is survived by his father, Russell Lee Garner of Las Vegas, Nevada; his paternal aunt, Pandora Murray, of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother Anthony of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Brittany and Taylor; nephew Jaxon; and niece, Savvy of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Donna Sims. Shawn Anthony Lee Garner was born on November 17, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada, to parents Russell Lee Garner and Angela Gypin. He attended Shadow Ridge High School and was a straight A student. Shawn was a social active man who was also a Make a Wish recipient due to his life long battle with cystic fibrosis. Shawn would be described best as a warrior in his battle. Shawn will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. When I'm Gone When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken; remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I've had loads of fun. Forget that I have stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day, then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, But in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay, and come in the evening when the sun paints the sky in the west, stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best. Desiderata GO PLACIDLY amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
