PHILIPI (FILIPPO) SCORDO Aug. 3rd, 1932 - May 10th, 2023 ~•?•~•?•?•?•~•?•~ Our Father, Filippo had a huge heart. He was not only committed to helping his family & friends but he often showed compassion to the Homeless.. mostly to those who were USA Veterans. Philipi (Filippo) Scordo was born in Riposto, Sicily on August 3rd, 1932 to parents, Carmelo & Carmela. He's the oldest of 5 siblings. He has 2 brother's. (Deceased) Joseph (Pippo or Giuseppe) wife Carmela & Giovanni (Gianni) wife Rosa. He also had 2 sisters, both deceased along with their spouses. Maria (Nina) Gervasio, husband Concetto & Sabastian (Nella) Barbuzzo spouse, Carmelo. He is a WWII Survivor. At age 17, Filippo joined & served in the Italian Merchant Marine, (which is equivalent to USA Coast Guard) during peace time efforts for about 4years. As a little boy, Filippo always dreamed of 1 day going to America & seeing all it's mass richness of opportunities which this great country offers. After entering into America, he traveled to Fulton, NY where he was a migrant worker on his Uncle's Farm. As a poor immigrant, with limited means, job experiences, skills, & facing language challenges Filippo foraged ahead by working hard.. providing for himself, his brother & his parent's back home in Sicily. He then later met & married Catherina (Ina) Panto on Feb. 23rd, 1957,where they settled in Syracuse, NY. They had 2 children, a daughter, Carmella Scordo-Cooper & a son, Carmen John Scordo, (wife Jayne) & 2 Grandchildren. Jonathan Scordo (wife Jessica) & Erin (husband Jared) Russell. After retiring in 1992, he & Catherina made their home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they enjoyed a good life with family & making great friends.. Living Life to it's fullest. He, along with his wife lived a good, honest & prosperous life. Proceeding his wife's death in July 1st. 2017.. Hopefully now, God has received Philipi with open arms, where he'll join his loved ones, who have proceeded him.. with the anticipation of living in "Eternal Bliss". We will miss you.
