Michael LeRoy Hansen

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Michael L. Hansen. Michael (Mike) passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson, NV surrounded by his family and friends. He was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and cherished friend to countless others. Mike was loved and admired by all who knew him. Born in Torrance, CA Michael enlisted in the United States Army after high school. He served his country from Aug 1970 - Apr 1972 as an Army Motor Transport Operator and was stationed in Manheim, Germany. After being honorably discharged Mike went to work at US Steel for a bit follow by a 31-year career in the Boilermakers. A faithful union man, Michael started his career with Local 92 in November 1981 and finished with Local 549 in October 2012. During these years Mike also worked as General Contractor. Mike met his soulmate Loretta while in high school in 1967. They were married in Lomita, CA in 1971. They would go on to spend the next 48 years building an amazing family, making memories, and cheering on the Warriors. Mike's passions all revolved around his family. With 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and too many friends to count, holidays in the Hansen home were always an event. Mike was proceeded in death by his father LaVern Hansen, his mother Roberta Norman (McCard) and his grandson Damion McTeer. He is survived by the love of his life Loretta. Brothers Mark Hansen (Janet), Rick Hansen (Lori), Mitchell Norman. Sisters Kristie Norman and Kim Hansen. Daughters Lisa Heid (Michael), Linda McGregor (Jamie), Leanna McTeer (Dionjai), Loni Galante (Paul). Grandchildren Jennifer Cox, Matthew Ralphs, Chad Raney, Linnea Guss, Caiden Guss, Mariah Santos, Messiah McTeer, Julianna Galante, Gabriella Galante. Great-Grandchildren Mikayla Solis, AJ Santo, Aria Ralphs. During his life Mike meant so much to so many. A sought-after mentor in both his professional life and his personal life. He was known as someone you could trust to be honest with you, good or bad. Michael Hansen spent his life speaking from his heart and anyone who knew him had no doubt that, if needed, he would be always be there for them.
