Malio Donald Monroe

Malio Donald Monroe, fondly known as Daddy or Poppy, 84 years old, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, surrounded by family at home. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Monroe; his daughter, Patricia Monroe-Burke, her husband, John Burke; his daughter, Ann Marie Monroe D’Albero; his daughter, Christina Mancinelli, her fiancé, Brian Connors; his daughter, Deanna Peterson, her husband, James Peterson; and his daughter, Melanie Amelia Monroe-Gasser. A proud Poppy of thirteen grandchildren, Nicole DiVincenzo, Kayla Masker, Brittany D’Angelo, Marissa DiVincenzo, Frankie D’Albero, Ashley D’Albero, Gabriella Valdes, Joseph DiVincenzo Jr., Alexis Mae Sisonick, Ava Jennie Sisonick, Ally Marie Sisonick, Chase Gasser, and Mickey Burke, and three great-grandchildren, Sophia D’Angelo, Anthony D’Angelo, and Nicholas Joseph Haas. He is predeceased by his parents, Donald Monroe and Louise Russo, and his sister, Louise Papapietro. Originally from Staten Island, New York, Malio served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 and worked for USMP, creating parts for the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. He then began his 15-year career with Procter & Gamble as a machinist. After moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, he became a tile layer before beginning his career with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. He served the United States Postal Service with pride for 15 years, retiring in 2012. When his children were younger, Malio enjoyed camping with his wife and daughters in Lake George, New York. His life was marked by his love for his family and friends, the music of Elvis and Dean Martin, and his passion for golf and bowling. Malio reveled in his success when he scored a perfect 300 bowling game in 1982 and shot a hole-in-one during a golf game in 2006. He found pleasure in treating his grandchildren to Cane’s chicken, golfing with his grandchildren and friends, being an “Uber” driver for his grandchildren around town, going to the driving range, and enjoying an old-fashioned meal of meat and potatoes. He is most certainly enjoying a root beer float on the golf courses in heaven, alla salute to our beloved Poppy! Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
