Linda Ann Fleming

Linda Ann Zeigler Fleming (“Zig”), born May 4, 1938, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Harold and Bessie Zeigler, lived a life filled with curiosity, kindness, creativity, and love. After graduating from high school, Linda took a year off to work before pursuing her college education in Portales, New Mexico, where she majored in Education and Art. During her college years, she met and married Charles A. Fleming. In 1961, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where both began their teaching careers. In 1968, Linda and Charlie adopted their first child, Michael Dale Fleming, who preceded his mother in death in November 2010. On January 19, 1972, they welcomed their daughter, Tobi Lynn. Although Linda and Charlie divorced after 20 years of marriage, they remained close friends until Charlie’s passing in May 2005. Linda retired from the Clark County School District after 40 years of teaching elementary students. She was beloved by generations of students who remember her engaging, hands-on lessons, her classroom pets—ranging from rats to millipedes—and the beloved tradition of making Stone Soup together. Linda was also a proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international honor society for women educators. An avid traveler, Linda visited 45 countries, fully immersing herself in each culture—even sampling bugs from street markets. She had a deep respect for all people and cultures and lived her life with openness and curiosity. Linda loved her family and friends fiercely and was always willing to help others in any way she could. Kind, generous, and full of humor, she had a passion for the arts, which she shared with her grandchildren. She never missed a single performance, proudly serving as their biggest fan as they pursued the arts through middle and high school. Linda lived life to the fullest and found joy in every moment. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her love of life. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Mike. She is survived by her daughter Tobi Ferguson, son-in-law Aaron Ferguson, and her two beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel and Olivia, whom she loved deeply and was immensely proud of. Linda also had a profound love for animals and a special connection with them. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to A Home 4 Spot (ahome4spot.com), the rescue organization from which she adopted her beloved dog, Bibo, who will now be lovingly cared for by her boys, Nathan and Ian. Services for Linda will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1001 North Christy Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89110 Welcome Me Into Peace Welcome me into the peace and tranquility of eternity!
