MILNE The world lost a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend Jeanine Lou Hodson, on Wednesday, August 31st, 2022. Jeanine passed away after complications from a surgery at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. She was released to the Lord's eternal care by her husband Chester of 45 years and loved ones by her side. Jeanine was born in Lynwood, CA, daughter of Betty and Gilbert Ferguson. She graduated from Jordan HS, Long Beach, CA. She went on to further her education as an AFS Exchange Student in Sogndal, Norway. After returning to the US she continued her major of English Literature at California State University, Long Beach. Jeanine was a Young Careerist at Buffums Department Stores and became a Buyer for women's wear. Jeanine joined Marriott Hotels as Shops Operations Manager at LAX property. She met her husband, Chester, when he joined the F&B Management team at Marriott. After getting married, Jeanine and Chester moved to Las Vegas, NV. Jeanine continued her career in Shops Operations with Host International, Frontier Hotel and he Imperial Palace where she also managed the Antique Auto Collection. Jeanine decided to change careers and got certified to be a school teacher. She started out as a substitute and then joined the teaching team at Shiloh Christian where she formed amazing bonds with both staff and students. She then became a Sales Rep for US Foods and then found the career she enjoyed the most "Realtor". Starting at Coldwell Banker then Windemere, and met her mentor Heidi. Names change but great teams grow. They became Prudential then Berkshire-Hathaway. Jeanine was a people person and every customer, co-worker, student, and client flocked to her ability to help others. Just don't get out of line because she had no problem letting you know. Jeanine retired January 2022. Her laugh was infectious, her hugs were healing, her smile was loving, and her strength was unmeasurable. Jeanine would want everyone to know she was called to God's arms at His time for her to gracefully walk with Him. She lived for God and walked with Him daily. She forever will be greatly missed, celebrated by the memories she left, and cherished for all the ways she led her life in God's image. She was a Christian, a Mother, a Wife, and a Grandmother. Jeanine loved to quilt, read, play solitaire or Sudoku, and also loved a good crossword puzzle like her mother did. She enjoyed a great "sale" at any one of her favorite stores and definitely those on QVC. Her conversations with and kind gestures for her grandchildren were her favorite. She loved her family and friends with the fiercest heart and unconditional love. Jeanine is survived by her loving husband, Chester, sons Matthew and David, grandsons Logan, Travis, Elliott and Oscar, Sister Maureen and John Humes, and Brother Brent and Lorie Ferguson. She was God's child and is home now. "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, be not dismayed: for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Isaiah 41:10 Jeanine's Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
