Janet L. Taylor

After a courageous battle with glioblastoma (brain cancer),Janet Taylor has moved on to her next adventure. Born in Southern California, Janet was the beloved daughter of Norman, Carolyn, and stepfather, Mike Branham. Janet's older brother, Michael, had wished for a brother named Jimmy, but when he learned he would have a sister, joyfully accepted her with the words, "If I can't have a brother named Jimmy, I'll have a sister named Janet." Janet's early years were filled with love and occasional mischief, especially when she had to navigate daycare on her own while her sister Carrie was at school. Despite being playfully teased about her daycare adventures, Janet's spirit remained unbroken. Janet's school years were all spent in Ashland, and she was a proud member of AHS Class of 1982. Janet remained connected with many childhood friends, and was known for her skills on the softball field. She played many spirited rounds of golf with her stepfather, who was always challenging her shots with bets of "two bits" Janet's career began in the family's businesses, "Big Mike's Market" and "The Underground Gourmet Delicatessen," where she developed a strong work ethic. Adventures back to California offered her opportunities in various industries before finding success in the plumbing industry as a dynamic sales person. Her dedication and expertise and drive earned her numerous awards, accolades and the loyalty of her clients. A passionate sports fan, Janet loved golf and was a devoted supporter of the Los Angeles Angels, frequently enjoying games at the ballpark. She also cherished her time at her Cabo San Lucas condo, celebrating birthdays with friends, and exploring the scenic beauty of California, Arizona, and Nevada in her camper. In April, Janet celebrated her 60th birthday with a heartfelt gathering of family and friends in Las Vegas, where she had the chance to bid everyone farewell. Her only regret was not being able to vote in the 2024 election. Janet's wide circle of friends, including her best friend and confidant Leah, and her closest companions Tina, Mama, and Rhonda-whom she considered her "framily"-will deeply miss her boisterous and ever generous spirit. Janet is survived by her daughter Taylor, son-in-law Oliver, grandsons Jaxtyn and Cash, her beloved dog, Miss Palmer, and her pesky, curious cat, Felix. Her father Norman predeceased her.
