Diana Carpizo slipped peacefully into eternity on January 18, 2026, wrapped in the unwavering love of her family and friends, right in the comfort of her Las Vegas home. Diana was born August 29, 1965, in Los Angeles to Frank Gonzales, Sr. and Leonor Gonzales. She grew up in Los Angeles and San Diego. She proudly walked across the stage alongside the Patrick Henry High School class of 1983, ready to take on whatever came next. Those next steps led her to an occupation as a Senior Claims Adjuster for Midwestern Insurance Company, where her sharp eye for detail, empathy to those who needed it, and zero tolerance to those “playing the game” made her a go-to professional for years. But Diana’s true masterpiece was her 32-year love story with Joseph Carpizo. As his devoted wife, she was the steady heartbeat of their home - the one who held everything together with quiet strength, endless encouragement, and a smile that could light up any room. Together they raised three incredible children: James, Joseph, Jr., and Jazmyn. She was the kind of mom who never missed a moment to cheer them on, whether that was a cross-country meet, a football game, or ladies' basketball. Family gatherings were sacred to her, and she cherished each moment, especially those during Christmas and Easter. She enjoyed trying out new restaurants and foods, and each year during the San Diego County fair she looked forward to sampling the newest foods offered, or simply strolling through the vendor booths, each activity an opportunity to spend time with loved ones. Shopping was her happy place, and discount stores such as HomeGoods and Marshall's provided hidden gems for her to find. More than once, Joseph would come home to a completely rearranged living room, fresh Pinterest-inspired decor, and her beaming with pride over the transformation she’d pulled while he was away in San Diego. Let us not forget her legendary luck with the slots. She’d settle into her favorite machine, that fourth one from the door at the Silverton, convinced (and often proven) that fortune favored her that day. At the center of her heart were her beloved “fur babies”: Jade, Faith, and Elvis. Diana took her role as Chief Spoiler very seriously; no day was complete without treats and belly rubs. Woe to those who would think of speaking bad of them in her presence, especially Jade. Those pups know unconditional love because Diana gave it so freely. Diana is survived by her adoring husband, Joseph, and her children: James and his wife Johanna, with their daughter Azriel, Joseph, Jr., and Jazmyn. She is also survived by her siblings Susanna, Frank, Jr. and Emma, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially Liberty, whose lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and big heart. A funeral mass to celebrate Diana’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday, the 21st of February 2026 at 10:00am at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, located at 8200 Gold Coast Drive,San Diego, CA 92126. All who loved her are warmly invited to join in remembrance and shared stories. Rest in Peace, Diana. Your vibrant spirit, your infectious joy, and your endless capacity for love will echo in our hearts forever. We’re already picturing the heavenly home you’re redecorating for us.
