David Martin

David Martin, of Las Vegas Nevada, passed away at home on April 23rd, 2019. David was born June 30th, 1947 in Havaco, West Virginia. He was the beloved son of late Harold Martin and surviving mother Eileen Martin Kessinger. David went to Princeton High School in Princeton West Virginia and graduated the class of 1965. Soon after high school, he joined the Marine Corps. He served a tour in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, earning him the Presidential Unit Citation with three Bronze Stars (equivalent to the Navy Cross, and the Navy Unit citation with two Bronze stars. After returning home from his tour of duty, he graduated from Beckley College in Beckley West Virginia. He retired from The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs W. Va as a massage therapist. David was also a photographer and artist. He loved to paint, one good look at some of his works and you knew it was painted by him. He loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. He was a competitive pool player, winning nationally ranked tournaments with his skills. David moved to Las Vegas from West Virginia with his wife Tammy and son Richard after his retirement. He loved Las Vegas. It was home to him. Left to cherish his memories are his Loving wife Tammy Martin, daughter Tracey Fabares & Husband Dave, son Richard Martin, brothers Ed Martin & wife Melinda, Bill Martin and wife Kathy, grand-daughters Summer & Jordan Ingram, great grand-daughter Rylen Ingram, niece Stephanie Wood and nephews David & Harold Martin, great-nieces, Tammy's parents Micheal and Cham Lam, her sisters Jennifer and husband Victor, Lien and husband Hui, Thu and husband Don, Tammy's brother Bruce Lam and wife Vicky and many more family, friends, and neighbors. Also missing David is his great friend Carmelo "Doc" Infantino, who served with him in Vietnam. A service is to be held in his honor on May 1st, 2019 at 2127 W. Charleston Blvd Las Vegas, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 4-5pm with the funeral immediately following visitation. When I'm Gone When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken; remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I've had loads of fun. Forget that I have stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and won, ere the close of the day, then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, But in summer just gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay, and come in the evening when the sun paints the sky in the west, stand for a few moments beside me and remember only my best.
