Clarence Err Kannal

Clarence Err Kannal, 80 years old, of Las Vegas Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on October 29th surrounded by his loving family. Clarence was born on December 3rd, 1943, in New Waterford, Ohio. Clarence was the son of the late Harry and Lois Kannal. Clarence's career began early at his family's business, Kannal and Son Coal Company. He later moved into the trucking industry, working for Matlack Trucking and concluded his career with Citgo Company, where he hauled fuel. Even after retirement trucking held a special place in his heart. Many will remember the smile on his face when retelling stories of his glory days on the road. He also continuously collected model semi-trucks for the remainder of his life. Between his beloved Corvettes and his semi-trucks, he amassed quite a beautiful collection that he was very proud of. While trucking Clarence got to travel and see many different parts of the country. This led to his love of the open road and to him moving many times and living in many different cities and states. During his life he lived in Ohio, Florida, California, Arizona, and finally settling in Nevada where he lived the last 25 years of his life. Clarence enjoyed traveling and cherished time with his family. He was an avid Nascar and baseball fan, attending Nascar races in Las Vegas and enjoyed attending Las Vegas Aviator games. He loved visiting California, making annual trips to vacation with his family, pursue leisurely activities, or visit old friends. Another thing Clarence enjoyed more then most was his love for diet Pepsi. He was never seen without one in his hand or at his side, regardless of the occasion. Clarence loved his dogs. He always claimed he did not want Linda to bring home another one, but they always ended up sleeping in his bed that first night. Although not the best decision, he would sometimes sneak whatever he was eating under the table to them. He had many dogs throughout his life but at the time of passing his two precious boys were maltese brothers Charlie and Brody who he loved more then anything. Many nights were spent with one or both sat on his lap enjoying his company. Clarence was predeceased by his parents Harry and Lois. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda; daughters Lisa (Thomas) Champ and Lauren; son, Richard; and grandchildren Haley and Michael Champ. He also leaves behind his brother Larry Kannal, sisters Sandra (Dave) Anderson and Vicki (Tim Duble) Tucker, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. A private family memorial is being planned to honor his life and legacy.
