Christopher Scott Spradling

Christopher Scott Spradling, age 59 formerly of Smyrna, TN., passed away on January 8, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Chris was born in Fayetteville, TN to Betty and George Spradling on October 20, 1959. He graduated from Smyrna High School in 1979 and went on to serve on the La Vergne Police Department for many years, he also served with the 23rd Judicial District Drug Task Force, and owned Aegis Investigative group as a private investigator. He enjoyed playing/writing music, riding dune buggies, and was blessed with MANY great friends and family members who will truly miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Betty Spradling, his sister Leslie Massey, and his nephew Keith Spradling. Chris is survived by his son, Jonathan "JJ" (Meagan) Spradling, his daughter Nikki (Zach) Newbold, his brothers Jack (Pam) Spradling and Stephen (Chrissy) Spradling, and his sisters Gina Lee Spradling and Merida Kay Gann. He was grandfather to Brooklyn Hill, Kyleigh Spradling, Zoe Newbold, Eli Newbold, and Memphis Spradling. He was the uncle to 10 nieces and nephews. The summits of the mountains draw my eyes and lift them upward and beyond, to you, the secret source of all my being. For in the heights and depths of you, in you alone, I find the grace and help I need, to walk upon this path called earth and never stumble nor go astray. For you as guard and guide keep watch; you will not sleep by day or night as we do. I walk into your wakefulness, your guarding eye, your guiding hand protects and shades my way. The sun by day, the moon by night, provide no better light than yours, no better shade. And in the shadows of the mountains deep you preserve me from its evils. And in this traffic of the heart you shield my life and keep my soul in all its many wanderings, until at last I come to stand, my weary feet now firm upon the borders of your land, eternity. Most gracious and loving Father, we commend our loved one into Your hands. We are filled with the sure hope that your departed servant will, like Your Son, rise again. We thank You for all the good things You gave our loved one while here on earth. May your servant praise You forever in the joy of Your presence. We ask this through Christ, Our Resurrected Lord.
