Benjamin Matthew Black

On May 15th, 2022 at 8:22 am, after sharing a morning coffee with the loves of his life, Benjamin Matthew Black rode into the eternal sunrise one last time. He left this world as he entered it....with fervor and flair. His zest for experiencing life, love, family, and friends was unmatched. He was never one to leave anything undone, and could always find some way to make you smile. It was ingrained in him that way, just part of his DNA. Ben was born on January 13th, 1991 to his adoring parents Matt and Allyson Black. As a child, Ben embraced this world from the very beginning with an insatiable desire to be the best. Whether it was learning to master computers at 3, skiing at 6, riding quads, BMX, diving, or winning every single Pinewood Derby he and his father ever entered, he faced life head-on, unafraid and with kindness and passion that cannot be taught. As Ben grew older these incredible traits allowed him to excel at everything he touched. He was the best big brother, always teaching, always trying to protect, as well as growing alongside them.. He was never afraid to try new things and push himself to become more. His gentle compassion and deep emotional availability drew everyone who met him into his world. He connected easily with people, touched their hearts, and always brought his sense of family to them. In the spring of 2014, Ben met the love of his life, Jessica. Ben and Jess were married on June 4th, 2016, and began the journey of building a world together. He enjoyed traveling and creating memories with Jessica, his family, and his friends over the next year. He worked alongside his father and brother in the family flooring business and became quite a craftsman, once again touching many of the clients, always learning and always giving. There came a time when Ben felt a pull, to strike out and narrate his own story, it was then that he plunged, unafraid and headlong into a brand new career. With a sense of passion and dedication that had become a defining part of who he was, Ben went to work for KB homes. He quickly rose up through the company, always challenging himself to be the very best he could be. He loved every day that he had with this company. KB homes became just one more facet of "family" to Ben, and he cherished his time with the company and all the people in it. After this transition, Ben and Jess began the next steps in their life and welcomed their young son Theo with gracious hearts on July 22, 2020. And so the journey of parenthood began. He was a natural father, and it was obvious to all that saw him. The amount of love and adoration he had for his blossoming family was shared with any who wanted to know. He was in heaven being a dad. At the beginning of 2022, a new baby was on the horizon for Ben and Jess. It is to be a baby girl, Abigail, "Father's Joy". Ben's heart was filled with so much love and joy. He could not wait to welcome her into this world. Ben challenged himself to be the very best father, the best son, best brother, best boss, best friend, and best all-around human he could be. He was a larger-than-life success story. He opened his heart and mind to all those around him. He loved unconditionally. He always gave more than he expected and tried to lift everyone around him up. He had a knack for always making sure that people knew that they mattered, they were loved and they belonged. He was a genuine old soul that will be missed dearly. Ben is survived by his devoted wife Jessica, young son, Theodore, and greatly anticipated daughter, Abigail, his loving parents Matt and Allyson Black, sister and brothers Samantha (Eric), Christopher (Ariel), Andrew Black, Candice (Chris), Genevieve (Dylan) and Joselyn, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Benjamin and Esther Ranck, Patricia Bendorf, his uncles Christopher Ranck and George Black, and his cousin Molly Smith. His pure heart, gentle soul, and goofy smile will be deeply missed by everyone he touched. A Celebration of Ben's life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday the 21st, 2022 at the Mission Street Chapel located at 485 Mission Drive, Henderson, Nevada 89015 Henderson. There will also be a Ghost Ride Memorial at 7:30 pm on Saturday evening (5/21/22), with his family and friends a the corner of Dorrell Lane and Bostick Weir Street.
